Spotted Gum is an Australian wood, which originates from Queensland and and New South Wales. The tree achieves a height of approx. 40m and a diameter of approx. 1m.
The Wood
Spotted Gum is a bright wood from grey-brown to brown colour and rough structure. It is very heavy and hard. It operates moderately. It can be sawed, milled well and sharpened. The timber is used as carcassing timber in the bridge construction, truck -, railroad car and boat building. As hall soil and mosaic parquet it is very common in Australia and holds even in Europe chute. It attains ever more popularity in the object and private sector.
