Technical Facts
The Tree
The Cypress is an Australian resinous wood growing in Queensland and New South Wales. The tree is approx. 25m high and achieves a clade diameter of approx. 70cm.
The Wood
The Cypress is by its beautiful light to dark-brown colour and its branches an alive wood. For a resinous wood it is heavy and very hard. It operates moderately. It can be well sawed, milled and sharpened. It is very mushroom resistant and by its oils protected from termites. The timber is used in Australia in constructions during the building of houses, in the interior fittings and as flooring. Because of its advantages over other resinous woods it will continue to expand its workstation on the European market.
