The Tree

Blackbutt is an Australian Eucalyptus. Blackbutt grows in New South Wales and Queensland. The tree achieves a height of 50m and a master diameter of up to 1m. By its from shrub fires charred lower crust it got its name.

The Wood

The wood has a beautiful light brown to brown colour. It lives like all Eucalyptus by its interesting colour play. Despite its hardness it does not have a so high weight compared with other Eucalyptus. Blackbutt is a tough, fixed and hard wood. It can be sharpened and processed well. It is used in the fittings as hall soil and also as lumber for doors and stairs.
